Dress Code is an alternative rock band that plays original and cover music based out of Asbury Park, NJ. They are Lauren Gill on vocals, Jake Marrotta on drums, Ryan Graci and Daniel Pagano on guitars and Anthony Petroccoro on bass.
The band was originally formed in the fall of 2016 as Sharpstone, by Jake, Lauren, and Ryan, all of whom performed together as members of a core group and the Junior Pros at the Lakehouse Music Academy in Asbury Park, NJ. Multiple performance commitments lead to the band going on hiatus in spring 2017. This December, Lauren and Jake made the decision to reform the group. Bassist Anthony Petroccoro was brought on and Dress Code was born.
This seasoned group of young musicians have performance experience that belies their age. Ranging in ages from 12 to 15 years old, members of Dress Code have played in front of thousands at the PNC Bank Arts Center and the Prudential Arena as well as many shows at various venues including the Stone Pony, The Saint and The Brighton Bar along with many festivals and showcases across the region. Most notably, Lauren, and Ryan had the privilege of sharing the stage at the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park with Bruce Springsteen and Steve Van Zandt. With influences that range from Green Day, Led Zeppelin, The Foo Fighters to Black Sabbath, Dress Code members combine driving rhythms and searing guitars with emotion filled vocals to create a style that brings out the heart and soul poured into Lauren’s original compositions and breathes new life into their covers.
